Problem with EFS
Hi,
I am trying to copy a encrypted file on a server to a client machine share. On the client machine i want the file to remain encrypted. I use the following command to to a copy the encryprted file. This command is run by the user who has encrypted the file. 1. I connect to the clinet user specifying a account NET USE \\ClientName\IPC$ /USER:userid pwd 2.Copy the encrypted file COPY \\server\filename \\client\ShareName$\FileName //This command must copy the file on the client machine using the context //of the user account i specified while connecting to client. 3. Delete the connection \\ClientName\IPC$ /d The problem is the copy command fils to encrypt the file while copying over. I get the following error : The specified file could not be encrypted. The weird thing is it was working for so long before it hit this error. When i saw the eventvwr i saw "efs" logging the following message: EFS does not support encryption over network established using NTLM protocol. I am not sure if i am missing anything. Any help will be apperciated! Thanks |
