Access is denied
Hi guys,
The problem I'm facing here is going on for quite some time. We use Novell Directory Services to logon to our network and most of the authorization is done via NDS although the print server is a windows 2K3 machines with 2 NICS. The issue is that every 2 or 3 days some of our users face an issue that when they open Printers & Faxes that they see a message telling them that Access to the printer is Denied. But by simply removing the printer and add it again we can work around this issue. All client machines are Windows XP SP2. Note the ipc$ share of the print server is mapped via the logon script in Novell and the pcs are not on an AD domain whereas the print server is. It would be helpful if you've got any suggestions for this issue as I'm struggling with it for weeks now. Kind regards, Stumpy |

Re: Access is denied
Does the printer allow printing from EVERYONE in the permissions section? Right Click on the Printer>Properties>Security>Advanced

Re: Access is denied
Hi Xtabbe,
I think so yes. I will check tomorrow when i'm back in the office. I enabled also the audit logging on the server and can see some logon failures but can't make much out of them. I will get back to you asap with a copy of one of the logon failure events as well. Thanks for your offer to help in any case. Stumpy |
