[SOLVED] Brand new Server 2003 Install

Hay guys. I have just reinstalled server 2003 on a new server. I have designated it as a DNS Server (later on as file/print sharing with roaming user profiles)...DHCP has been removed after install because I am receiving my internet from a cisco box that was installed and is monitored off-site. I have the IP address as "obtain automatically"...when i go to do a release/renew I am given an IP address from the cisco box that hands out the internet addresses. And yet when I click on IE, I dont have internet. The error that pops up is 'unalbe to open the search page'. I have internet on every other machine on the network except for the server...y is it not letting the server go online?

Have you tried putting the DNS of the cisco box in the server dns settings? Seems like it could be a resolution issue. If all the other machines are DHCP, you can check to see what they hit for their DNS and Gateway. ipconfig /all

Thanks for the reply. You are right, the DNS settings were incorrect, I forgot to change them to match the cisco box settings. Thanks again..everything is fine with the server now.
