exchange webmail
I am running SBS 2003 with Exchange. My webmail is working great internally but not externally. I would appreciate some help on this topic.

You're going to need to open SSL (port 443) on your firewall to allow access. I would also recommend purchasing a digital certificate from a trusted publisher e.g. VeriSign, GoDaddy.
Optionally but very important, I would suggest setting up a front end server to handle the authentication of WebMail and put that in the DMZ. It's a little more secure and you keep from having to allow outsiders come all the way into your LAN and touch your Exchange box directly which also happens to be your DNS, Domain Controller etc... since you're using SBS. |
