XP Clients Disconnect from Server 2003

I have a domain of around 60 users. We have grown in the past 6 months and added 2 more servers, so I moved all of the redirected users documents to a different server. Our oldest "primary" My DC and DNS server for this building hosts my \\server\public. The "everyone" item in AD has full permission for this folder.

When this is only for some users, not all..
When they go to the folder, it appears the folder is empty, or the folder is disconnected. I've tried several troubleshooting steps on the workstation, but there seems to be nothing in the event log that shows why it disconnected. Sometimes its within seconds after the user reboots.

Is it everyone or only a select few that are having this issue? What all is hosted from this server?

Select few. Hosted on the server is DNS server, and a public directory consisting of about 50gb of data.

Create a global security group called "test". Apply the Group to the folder and to a few of the problem users. Make sure the Global Security group has full Admin control.

See if this helps at all. This should see if there is some kind of corruption withing the AD database.
