W2k Server upgrade to windows 2003 Server

How do I upgrade windows 2000 server to windows 2003 server? I can't seem to locate any step by step instructions, any help would be most appericated.

Take a look at this article. IT is from Microsoft so it should cover most of your questions.

If you are wanting very basic step by step instructions you will want to be very careful if you are upgrading a server that is in a business. There are many variables to consider when upgrading.

Thanks for the info but I have already view that documentation but it was not much help, I was looking for something that would give possible problems and you may have after an upgrade. Microsoft addresses domain controllers upgrades in detail but not standalone server upgrades. I did the upgrade over the weekend of one of my servers and it went off without a hitch.

Ok, Lets do this then.

Give me a list of what the server is used for e.g. AD, DNS, DFS, IIS, File Server, etc.

What are the system specs of the hardware? Are you going to give the upgraded server and more responsibilities?
