Re: W2k Server upgrade to windows 2003 Server
Take a look at this article. IT is from Microsoft so it should cover most of your questions.
If you are wanting very basic step by step instructions you will want to be very careful if you are upgrading a server that is in a business. There are many variables to consider when upgrading. |

Re: W2k Server upgrade to windows 2003 Server
Thanks for the info but I have already view that documentation but it was not much help, I was looking for something that would give possible problems and you may have after an upgrade. Microsoft addresses domain controllers upgrades in detail but not standalone server upgrades. I did the upgrade over the weekend of one of my servers and it went off without a hitch.
Thanks, Teddy |

Re: W2k Server upgrade to windows 2003 Server
Ok, Lets do this then.
Give me a list of what the server is used for e.g. AD, DNS, DFS, IIS, File Server, etc. What are the system specs of the hardware? Are you going to give the upgraded server and more responsibilities? |
