Cant save as a template in excel

Hi, I have a template in excel and a macro set up that converts formulas to values and then saves the excel template in a different location with the date and time as a template file. The problem is when the excel template saves in the new location it saves as a unknown file (has the unknown file icon and all), I however can open the file by clicking on it and it opens with excel but it is not an excel template and I cannot open as a excel template or even save as an excel template. I need it to be saved as an excel template in this particular folder because it will be run through a program afterwards that only uses templates. Now I know my problem is not my code as I already checked into this many times but here is my code anyway (the bottom would be the area to look at if anything):
