Multihomed SBS2003 DNS issues..KILLING ME!
I inherited an SBS2003 box (Exchange, AD, DC, etc) that is multihomed (public NIC for Exchange, local NIC for LAN files). I'm getting all kinds of DNS, replication, etc errors that I have been working on.

I'm going to post my ipconfig /all results first, then my netdiag and my dcdiag results below.

The key seems to be this error in Netdiag:

I'm not sure exactly how to setup authoritative DNS servers for my internal domain and I'm certianly not sure why it's trying to register to DNS server 0.0.0.0

I have net stopped/started netlogon and ntfrs more than once as well as run flush&registerdns commands

In the public NIC, I have our public domain name, craigasmith.com, in the DNS suffix for this connection box and I have register this connection in DNS checked but not use this connection's suffix...

in the LAN NIC, the DNS server is set to 127.0.0.1 (itself) and I have our internal domain, craigasmith.local, in the DNS suffix for this connection box and I have register this connection in DNS checked as well as the use this connection's suffix box.

In the server's DNS settings, i have it set to respond to DNS queries only on the local NIC, i have a couple of outside DNS servers in the forwarders box.

In the DNS zones, I have:
ForwardLookupZones
craigasmith.local
then the list of normals (_msdcs, _sites, etc)

There are a few records in the .local list that puzzle me:

(same as parent folder) Host A 192.168.0.196 (IP of remote office DC)
(same as parent folder) Host A 192.168.44.0 (no idea what this is)
(same as parent folder) Host A 192.168.0.7 (local IP of server)
(same as parent folder) NS rpbs2.craigasmith.local (remote office)
(same as parent folder) NS server5.craigasmith.local (this server)
(same as parent folder) SOA details

why would there be Host records for the remote office and what is the .0 address?

Well, that's all I can think of for now....below are the reports as detailed...

...and just for more info, when I run netdiag on the remote office DC, I get no errors. When I run DCDIAG it tells me:
