Backup Exec 10.0 on Windows 2003 issue
We have Veritas Backup Exec version 10.0 running on a Win2003 Server SP1 using an Overland 1 autoloader.
I run 4 jobs each night from 5pm and finish around 4amthe next morning. Spanning over 2 and a half tapes. At the start of the week i put in 15 tapes, run an inventory, run a quick erase so they sit in 'scratch media', then run another inventory. On the first night it will be halfway through the 2nd job when the first tape fills up, it will then autoload a new tape from scratch media and the backup job will continue, it will do this again during the 4th job. On the 2nd night it will get half way through the 2nd job and then this error message comes up: "please insert overwritable media into the robotic library using the import comand..." Instead of loading a new tape. There are plenty of empty tapes in 'scratch media' Does anyone know why this is happening? |

Re: Backup Exec 10.0 on Windows 2003 issue
Try assigning each tape to the Daily backup media classifacation. This should just allow it to be overwritten instead of having to be deleted and put in scratch media.
