Csv script
Hi! I'm teaching myself server 2003 with a training kit. I'm creating templates for multiple users. I've followed the text exactly, but when I run the command at the prompt, I get an error message. The text for the file in the book is:
DN,objectClass,sAMAccountName,sn,givenName, userPrincipalName "CN=Danielle Tiedt,OU=Employees, DC=contoso,DC=com",user,dtiedt,Tiedt,Danielle,danielle.tiedt@contoso.com "CN=Lorrin Smith-Bates,OU=Employees, DC=contoso,DC=com",user,lsmithbates,Smith-Bates,Lorrin,lorrin.smithbates@contoso.com I've typed this in notepad and saved as "users.csv", as instructed. DN,objectClass.sAMAccountName.sn.givenName.userPrincipalName "CN=Danielle Tiedt,OU=Employees,DC=contoso,DC=com",user,dtiedt,Tiedt,Danielle,danielle.tiedt@contoso.com "CN=Lorrin Smith-Bates,OU=Employees,DC=contoso,DC=com",user,lsmithbates,Smith-Bates,Lorrin,lorrin.smithbates@contoso.com At the command prompt I type, as instructed: csvde -i -f f:\users.csv I get the following result: Connecting to "<null>" Logging in as current user using SSPI Importing directory from file "f:\users.csv" objectClass Attribute not defined 0 entries modified successfully. An error has occurred in the program No log files were writen. In order to generate a log file, please specify the log file path via -j option. What am I doing wrong? Or is the file incorrect? I tried to search for help in writing the file, but I just get info on writing csv commands and syntax. Should I have typed something at the beginning of each quote to represent the objectClass? This is driving me nuts. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Csv script
Never mind. I finally figured out that I had periods in the first line of the file instead of commas. DUH! I need new eyes. By the way, where do I find info on how to create these files---the syntax etc. Thanks.
