Problem Subject:
Windows Server 2000 RRAS/NAT Random Stop **************************************************************************** Setup/Configuration Description: NIC 1 is connected to the ISP (Telus communications) and obtains valid TCP/IP Information (NOT DHCP ENABLED). NIC 2 is connected to the internal LAN and obtains valid TCP/IP Information (NOT DHCP ENABLED). Server is running Windows 2000 Server and the following services related to network; Active Directory Domain Controller Server, DNS Server, DHCP Server, WINS Server, NAT Server and IIS Server for the internal LAN on NIC 2 (NOTE: IIS RUNS ON BOTH SIDES). **************************************************************************** Problem Description: Randomly, server and clients connected to the server will stop recieving external connection. Internal services still work (DNS,DHCP,WINS,NAT,IIS), NIC 1 and NIC 2 on the server still are receiving valid TCP/IP configuration, and I can ping the gateway for the ISP, or other clients connected to ISP. I however cannot ping other IP's such as the DNS server. The ISP (Telus communications) claims it is a problem with my hardware/software. When I attach another computer to the modem, I recieve a problem free connection. |

Re: Windows Server 2000 RRAS/NAT Random Connection Issue
I will add - The drivers work fine, and are the proper ones for my devices. I believe it is a software issue. Unless it is some advanced hardware routing issue. Thanks!

Re: Windows Server 2000 RRAS/NAT Random Connection Issue
Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know others have the exact same problem, and it appears to be the RRAS software that's acting up. Read this: http://www.computing.net/answers/win...ions/9270.html There's no solution yet, but it's well on the way :) |
