IIS Restore??
Hello Everyone,
My name is Ryan. I am currently working as an IT intern and under one other IT Manager. Recently our internal sharepoint website has gone down out of nowhere and we have no idea why. I have little knowledge of IIS and haven't been able to offer any real solutions, as the homepage for the Sharepoint site seems to have just disappeared off of our server. WHAT I AM WONDERING IS HOW GOOD OF AN OPTION WOULD IT BE TO JUST RUN THE IIS RESTORE feature that has a backup of a previous date. Does it work similar to the windows system restore program or is it more in depth? My boss is afraid to run it because he does not know if it will affect other aspects of the server. He has little experience with IIS also. Please let me know if this is a good first thing to try before we get Microsoft on the phone. Thanks!! |
