HELP!!! Format Error

I Have A Windows XP Cd But Im Running 2000 Trying To Upgrade.
When I Put In The XP Cd It Says Compact Cd So I Clicked It And
Said Do You Want To Format. I Chose Yes And It Said Cannot Be
Formatted. Does Anyone Know Why???

sounds to me like someone has a faulty burnt cd; or try reinstalling/roll back drivers for your cd rom.
