Someone please help me (Stop error; details inside)
I'm seriously almost at my breaking point. You see, yesterday I encountered the stop error:
STOP: 0x000000IE KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED The Address of the problem being ohcuusb.sys Here is what i've done, in a summary, to fix the problem (unsuccessful, of course. When is an attempt to fix a computer ever successful? If you can answer this question that mankind has always pondered about, let me know.) Anyway. I googled about this stop error, and the best info i picked up was to isolate the system file that was causing the problem, in this case, ohcuusb.sys. To do this, I deleted the file. The system boots up fine after this, but you see, the System File Restore (or, Windows File Protection) Keeps bringing it back from the dead where it plagues me with the blue screen of death once again after soon after start up of the system. Now, with a hex editor, i located SFCDisable, and changed the value to 1, which is supposed to disable the System File Protection. To my amazement, this worked, for a while anyway. About an hour ago my system flipped out and gave me the same stop error. I booted up in safe mode, and there's ohcuusb.sys, sitting safely in the system files folder. I checked the system file restore again and the value was still set to 1, meaning its still disabled. How is this file coming back? I find this quite amusing, that microsoft can make an utterly useless file come back when its destroying my computer, but they can't stop firefox from closing without warning. What a joke. I'm about to smash my computer to bits, so if anyone wants to save me 300 dollars, please help me. I'm begging you. |

sledge hammer. works great then some duct tape to fix it all up again.
just kidding. looks like many programs run that file. blue screen means hardware issue most of the time. what coule be going on is this. you delete a file the programm downloads it again updates. whatever. is skype running on the machine and what I would do is delete the file get it working and do a system restore to a point where you know I mean know its worked best |
