User Folder Empty In Ad
Server 2003 R2 SP1
The active directory was severely damaged, after talking with a few peers we came to the conclusion to do an Authoritative Restore of the system state via a backup from the night before. The restore went off without a hitch. Users can authenticate and are having no problems using anything located on the server. After the restore the Users folder in AD is empty. The server logs only report that the AD might not be functioning properly at start up. After start up there are no errors or warnings regarding the AD or DNS. I have listed below the 2 Errors that occur at Start Up. Source: DNS Type: Error Event ID: 4004 The DNS server was unable to complete directory service enumeration of zone .. This DNS server is configured to use information obtained from Active Directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly and repeat enumeration of the zone. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error. Source: DNS Type: Error Event ID:4015 The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error. |

Re: User Folder Empty In Ad
*UPDATE*
The user folder and Groups are still not visible in AD. I used ADexploer and was able to see all of the Users and Groups. So with that discovery that leaves the fact that the AD management console is trashed. Does anyone have any idea how to repair the console? Help would be greatly appreciated. |
