GPO without a Display Name..
There is a GPO in my domain which does not have a display name & does NOT show in Active Directory users & Computers[ AD U& C] nor Group Management Console[GPMC], but does appear in ADSIEdit.msc. Its canonical name in ADSIEdit shows that it is located under a certain OU in AD - but it is not visible there[under that OU , nor is it visible under System\Policies where all the other Policies are present in AD U &C]...Is there some way to view this GPO in AD U & C or GPMC, and programmatically distinguish it from GPOs that are visible in AD U& C or GPMC?
I'm not sure how the above GPO was created - I created a simliar GPO using ADSIEdit.msc & not from within GPMC [Right clicked on the Domain node in ADSIEdit & created a new object of type groupPolicyContainer] This object has only Canonical Name attribute defined - no other attributes. This GPO without all attributes appears in Active Directory users & Computers[ AD U& C] Why is this GPO not visible in AD U& C or GPMC? Related - what makes a GPO a valid one? |
