IIS MetaBase
Is it possible to backup IIS metabase from a secondary drive?
Windows 2000 OS has IIS on it and it will not stay loaded long enough to back it up. I was going to have to try and hook the HD up as a slave on a 2nd tower and then if it's possible back up the metabase that way. |

Re: IIS MetaBase
Nice and simple
Since the IIS metabase is just a glorified XML document you can simple map to the drive and copy it onto your new box. You need to make sure all IIS services are stopped before copying the database off. Location: SystemRoot%\system32\inetsrv\metabase.bin Also if you have ever run a metabase backup in the same location will be a folder called "metaback" containing previous backups. Hope this helps Black Unicorn |
