microsoft office 2003 help. urgent

since i am new to this forum, i don't know if this is the correct place to post this but i couldn't find another place to post this. so here is the problem. i just downloaded a trial of microsoft office professional and everytime i open any of the microsoft office programs, it says "the modification is not allowed because the document is locked". but it is a new document and i was wondering why it is doing that. i already have my product key by me to put in but when i go to help>activate product, nothing comes up. someone please help me with this situation.

The trial for Office 2003 isn't available (according to my searches at Microsoft.com).

There is a 60-day trial of Office 2007, though.
