vmware operating system

hi everyone

i want to install vmWare server. what kind of operating system will give me the best performance-i have a PC with intel core 2 processor,2 GB RAM(800)
and a GIGABYTE 965P motherboard

Scroll down to pages 7-11 (pdf 15-19) to see the recommended OS's. If you want to stick with Windows rather than Linux, I'd go for Server 2003, but I can't see you having any problems with any of the others listed.
