Down windows 2003 servers cause problems
- hey guys i just created a shared folder on our main server then i configured a network drive for it in all our users computers, in the last computer i just created a network drive for the shared folder that i created then suddenly AVG pop up a warning that a .exe virus has been detected on the shared folder that i created. so i immediately quarantine the virus unplug the computer from the network and start scanning for viruses. then i went to the server and opened the shared folder that i created and there i saw the icon of the .exe virus. to make sure i unplug both our 2 servers from the network and scan for viruses. then our users now experience problems like it hangs when they are trying to save and their word documents suddenly not responding. i think this is not a cause of the virus that was detected, i think this is cause by the mapped network drives in their my computers that is looking for the server that is not existing. but still i will check our users computers for viruses as well.
- can i have your inputs here guys.

Obviously if the file server is not available users would not be able to save data to the non existing server. I think the solution is get the server cleaned and put it back online. I would definitely scan those PC's for viruses as well.
