Server hanging up
My recently reformatted server keeps hanging up for no apparent reason.
My question is....... other than overload, what can cause a server to hang up?? and any idea on how to resolve this isue?? |

Heat, bad RAM, a corrupt application or service, flaky power.
Just to name a few ... ...I'd start by installing Speed Fan. Make sure you turn off all power saving and screen savers. This program will monitor the CPU and system temps (showing the CPU temp in the system tray). Next, break out the BlowOff and get he dust out of all the fans (the power supply may have multiple fans, but it's best to blow it from the inside out). While the case is open, make sure all cards and cables are fully inserted/properly seated. |
