NTBackup verification - network traffic?
We've got several servers backing up to network attached storage devices using NTBackup as supplied in Windows Server 2000. However, scheduling them so as not to overlap is quite complicated.
A large amount of time is taken up with verification and I am not completely sure what means NTBackup uses to verify the backup files. Will it be generated any network traffic during this process? If not I can schedule a different server to be backing up to a different storage device at the same time as the first is going through the verify. This would enable me to close up a lot of the current gaps between servers and free up some additional time slots so it's quite important. So the question is basically, does the verification process generate much network traffic? Cheers, Simon |
