sending a file
Hey guys,
i need some help. I need to send a file to someone. We both have high speed internet. i have put it into a .rar format. unfortunatly you are limited to sending attachments to 10mb. This file is 320mb. Seems like i could do it by ftp. I do not have a static address. How can i send this???. i know how on a intranetwork, but not over the internet. Any help would be appreciated. |

A technological purist will recommend using a simple HTTP server, but this isn't simple if you're behind a LAN with multiple computers and a router.
My grandfather uses a program called Pando to send me large files. You can find it at http://www.pando.com/ . If you want to go the pure way, you can use simpleserver, although you'll have to make sure port port 80 gets forwarded to your machine.

320MB file will take hours to upload even over a high speed connection. It might be more practicle to just send the person a CD. |
