Best book for setting up Exchange?
Hello, I am going to set up MS Exchange Server 2003 on our domain controller. I have never set up Exchange before and never even maintained it. I've only used Exchange as a client.
Anyway, it needs to be done so I am looking for a book to help me do it. What is the best book to use to set up MS Exchange Server 2003? Anyone have any suggestions, recommendations? It shouldn't be too advanced or in too much depth. The urgency is that we need to share calendars so if I could just get that going first would be good. Thanks! |

Books by themselves aren't quite enough - try experimenting a bit using a virtual machine. You'll thank yourself later.
As bilbus said, try to avoid putting it on your DC. Exchange can on occasion collapse, especially if you're still learning it, so you don't want it taking out your DC with it. |

If exchange is not going to be used heavily (meaning less than 10 people e-mailing occasionally) then you should be OK, though it is still not recommended. If you do decide to install exchange on the domain controller make sure to stop "Microsoft Exchange System Attendant" before restarting the computer, otherwise it won't restart.
