How to limit user logons
i'm trying to setup a policy for all the users on a domain NOT to be able to login on more than 1 PC at a time !!!
i tought that there was an option to enable this through Group Policy but i am not able to find anything in regards to this Can anyone help ???? |

There is no way to do this directly through Active Directory. However Microsoft have a free tool called limit logon. It is designed so you can limit number of users logging on (and works with terminal server sessions) but also shows what users are logged on to the domain.

What is the path to the scripts in Windows 2003? I keep getting in invalid alert.

i couldn't get it to work either but this not a very good solution to limit user logins. It does clickcount to determine connection to the Active Directory so if user logs in the script applies a click to the login counter and when the user logs out it subtracts it. Problem is what would happen if a machine is just switched off, power outage or even blue screen => script will not run obviously ......
has anyone any other solutions ?!?!??!??! BTW johnkellettcouk thaks again !!! |

I do. I do. I do. Use Netware. It has been able to do that natively for many many many years. I only go back to Netware 5, but I am sure it has been a feature since 4.11.
I am just joking of course. We had this discussion on another forum that I visit. I know some people use a combination of VBscripts to check for this. I will have to find that thread. I will post back when I do. |
