Cannot log into Windows 2003 server

I get the folloiwng error message when tyring to log into a Domain: A domain controller could not be found for the specified domain.

If I log into my PC , I can map a drive to the server when browsing to it from My Computer and entering my userID and password.

Check to make sure that the PC's DNS listing points towards the domain controller.

I'm assuming you promoted a member server to a DC, yes?
