NT Server explorer.exe crashes / Event Viewer won't work and more...
Just finished with a long thread with Reid in the HijackThis Log Help forum getting me out of virus / Trojan hell (http://www.techsupportforum.com/show....php?t=115995). He referred me over to this forum for the remaining problems.
On my NT Server (SP6a), I have a few problems (which may or may not have been caused before all the virus / Trojans were fixed). The server is a standalone web / email / ftp server and is not connected to other computers, just the internet. 1) While the server is up (normal and in safe mode), I am now getting frequent (after I open some files or directories or programs) Dr Watson crashes of explorer.exe with Exception number: c0000005 (access violation). It is not a crash all the way down to a re-boot, more like a re-login. A number of programs I have in the start-up launch again and end up running multiple times. 2) My Event Viewer won't launch. 3) There are some registry entries left from the virus / Trojans that I can't seem to delete - says I don't have permission (though I'm logged in as Administrator). Please help! Regards, Mark |
