Event Log Analysis

While I've used eventvwr (Event Viewer) to death, I am certainly open to using something else. Simply put I am getting rather sick of filing through hundreds of log entries everyday with eventvwr checking for anomalous activity, etc. It is simply not very forgiving at times. While it is true I can cut down on auditing, I prefer not to.

Anyone familiar with an good freeware third-party event log viewing utility to replace Event Viewer? I am well aware of Enterprise Management solutions, however I am specifically looking for a utility that can parse/analyze the log entries and report with greater clarity.

Have you tried looking over How to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer ?

I am not aware of any such program

Of course, I use filters regularly in Event Viewer, however I am mainly looking for an alternative that is easier on the eyes. I like to check my logs daily for suspicious activity, which unfortunately takes quite some time even with filters to go through. I am aware of open source solutions for Linux that collate and organize syslog entries, but I am not aware of any for Windows and the event logs.
