Service terminated unexpectedly

Hi,

I have some issues where some of my services are terminating unexpectedly.
The error message that I see in the EventVioewer system logs is:

<service name> service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this one time. The following corrective measure will be taken: No measure

Do you know why this is happening or/and how can I avoid this re-occuring in the future?

What services? What OS? Server hardware specs?

Services...various...from Exchange related services like ExchangeIS and MTA to Patrol and other.
OS - 2000 Server and 2003
Server specs - various
