CMOS Settings Wrong.
Hi,
My partner has Windows 2000 Pro installed and when she went to start up this message came up CMOS Settings Wrong. Also had lost some time on the clock. Was wondering if it was the battery and if it is where is it and how do you change and reset. Thanks for any help. John |

Hi John,
My guess is that your battery has probably gone bye, bye. Each motherboard has them located maybe differently and don't know what you have, but if you will just look, it looks like a large watch battery. All you do is remove it and replace it (watch orientation) like you would any battery. The most you could lose by trying this is the cost of the battery which should be less than six bucks. When it comes back up after you put the battery back in and try it, set your computer to default settings and then make any adjustments that you need to make in the BIOS setup menu. Simple as that. Post back with questions or concerns.
