Missing NTLDR

I just upgraded a pc from Win98 to Win2000Prof. The upgrade went flawless until it asked me to reboot when the upgrade was finished.

Upon rebooting I get a black screen with the words "Missing NTLDR Press any key to reboot"

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

you could try the install again. upgrading from one OS to another is and can be buggy at times. a fresh, or otherwise known clean install of the OS, and yes this means formatting and wiping the drive completely of it's data befor the install, or creating a new partition, before the install of the OS.

That is what I figured. I made a boot disk and tried booting from the disk to reinstall windows but on the last boot disk I get the blue screen of death. I also have tried several times to enter the bios to change the boot order so I can boot from the cd and cannot activate the bios menu for some reason. I have tried esc, f1, f2, ctrl+alt+enter and del. Nothing works. Is there another way to enter the bios set up menu that I may not be familiar with?
