Green lines everywhere!

My computer was fine last night, but when I turned it on this morning, I saw this:

I thought it was my monitor at first so I turned I restarted to see. When I restarted, I saw that the green lines didn't come until Windows 2000 started to boot up. Does anyone know what's wrong or how I can fix it?

Video Card

The problem probably lies with your Video Card. Open your box up and clean the card off with some canned air. It could be overheating... or, it could just be time to replace it.

What type of video card do you have installed?

I have an ATI Radeon 9550SE video card. I have had it for about a year and a month.

I'm running my virus scanner right now and Antivir detected some exploit called EXP/MS05-013. Could that have anything to do with it?

I googled it and checked symantec's site and was unable to find a threat of that variant. Will your antivirus give you a definition? That could very well be the problem.

No, it won't. When I look under threat information, if says it can't find any.

I also noticed that when I put my mouse over a link or try to play a video, the lines get worse around that area.

I could still try the video card thing, just in case. I don't have any canned air, though. Is there anything else I could use?

You can probably just shut your computer off for an hour or so and let it cool down. Open the box and see if the inside of the box has a lot of dust bunnies, if it does... then go to the store and buy some canned air. That is going to be your best bet. Make sure that you do not touch any of the equipment inside of the box unless you are grounded properly, this should ensure that you do not damage any of the components with static discharge.

The problem actually ended up being the file I mentioned before. I quarantined it and rebooted and everything was fine. Thanks for your help, though.
