Can't seem to boot up?
Have an older Compaq Deskpro EN P3 866 MHz tower running Win2000. When I boot up it says " inaccessible boot device - chkdsk-f ". Anyone know what that means. The machine comes with a restore CD so I'm assuming it has a reinstall partition. Since Compaq is now HP, there doesn't seem to be any kind of Compaq forum anymore. Thanks.

See if you can boot to the restore disk. Not sure if this will work with an older computer, especially if the restore CD accesses a hidden partition
Then boot to the Recovery Console Quote:
If you cannot do this with your recovery CD, and cannot borrow a WIn 2k CD, you can go to bootdisk.com, and make a win2k boot disk Actually, I think it is 4 to 6 floppies. . |
