How do I Format my hard disk that has Windows 2000 installed
Formatting my hard disk that has Windows 2000 installed
I went to "my computer" and found "manager" selected "format" but a message appeared that said that it could not format (itself) the disk containing Windows 2000 Question: Can someone please detail the procedure for me to format my hard disk, so that it is completely empty, and ready for me to reinstall Windows 2000? |

You can't format Windows while you are in Windows. Just boot from the 2000 CD, delete the Windows 2000 partition, format the unpartitioned space as NTFS, and install Windows 2000 on it again. It's that simple.
If you are still confused then read the following... http://www.windowsreinstall.com/wind...dhdd/index.htm Note that the partition they delete in the link I gave you is FAT32. Your partition should be NTFS. |
