Confused Multimedia Audio Controller help please

We currently don't have any sound on our computer although we have had on the same OS in the past. When i found that our computer had errors on it I downloaded a program to fix these errors. It turned out i needed to pay for a preoper version of the program to remove these errors so i uninstalled the program. In doing so I think I lost some sound drivers as the program attached itself to these (i think). I clicked on Add/Remove Hardware in the control panel and found an yellow exclamation/question mark symbol beside Multimedia Audio Controller. I found that the drivers were not installed for that device. Our Hardrive box says IBM (international business machine) on it so this may help with choosing the appropriate driver. Can you help me please? thanks

If you are on the internet on this machine, you may be able to
go to the device manager and double click the device to
open properties.
Then click update driver.
When it gives you a choice of locations, check the box that
says windows update.
Windows update may or may not have a driver.
If not,you will need to find the full model number and go to the
IBM website to find your driver.

It should either be on the front of the computer,
or on a data plate on the back of the computer.
