System Shutdown/restart Very Slow
Hi,
I have windows 2000 professional and have the subject problem. Whenever, i restart my machine from desktop, it takes long time to shutdown and then again to restart it takes also long time. Appreciate for urgent help. Thanks Manzoor |

What patch level? There was a patch that caused a slowdown in shutdown of about 1 minute. Look in event viewer and see if there are messages about problems unloading profiles. I think SP4 has finally fixed this issue.

In fact, I had that problem with SP3, solved by reinstalling SP3 over the current pack.
I'm running SP4 now (not without some deep breaths and moments of panic), and it is smooth as silk. :bandit: |
