Hello,
If you think you have been infected do not remove any start up items yet. Do an intensive cleaning. Removing malware from start up wont be a solution. If not you download msconfig for windows 2000 here and go to start - run and type msconfig. Under start up you can remove items. OR you can download ace utilities and use the start up manager. It is indeed a wonderful tool to keep up the order and maintain your system. If you are into system maintanence you can find it handy and fun. Start up manager will provide you info about the selected item. Also you can check if a start up item is necessary or malicious. Go to http://castlecops.com/StartupList html and type in the entry. You will get some decent info about the item. If you happen to have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask. Regards. |

Yeah, you can use the msconfig utility that comes with Windows XP. Either download it from the web or get it off of someone's XP system. But I prefer to use Mike lin's Startup Control Panel.
