laptop password lost

Hi, i lost password to my laptop. i need to enter the pswd before the system boots. i have dell inspiron. I am not a techie. can anybody suggest / help me

i guess i need a BIOS password

From the Dell community forums:

Unfortunately, Dell cannot provide BIOS passwords via the Dell Community Forum; however, you may contact us via the telephone and, after a complete verification of your ownership of this computer, we can provide you with the necessary password
