Windows Hot Fix Hotfix problem

I keep getting a Windows HotFix window pop up at inopportune times...esp when I'm running DOS programs. Any idea how to get them to stop? Thanks

Nope. It's a gray-blue box in the middle of the screen that says something like "Please wait. Installing HotFix".

Do you have Automatic Updates enabled?

Not sure. What's that and how do I turn it off? I know Win XP better, but my co. uses Win2000Pro.

In the Control Panel, there should be an Automatic Updates icon. You can change the settings here.

Found it, but the box is not un-checkable. It's greyed out. Any ideas on how to access it?

Well, you probably have the Automatic Update service disabled, so that rules that out as being the cause of the problem.

By "co" do you mean your computer or your company?

Send a message via ICQ to Uranium-235 Send a message via AIM to Uranium-235 Send a message via Yahoo to Uranium-235
It might be greyed out if you're not logged in as an administrator
