Win 2000 Pro and XP Laptop

First post here could be real elementry but here it goes.

I have 2 Win 2000 pro machines and trying to set up a new XP laptop into the network. I see the new station on the 2000 machine in the correct 'workgroup' but unable to to get into it . Recieving error unautorized see network admin.

On the new laptop recieving sam error and unable to see the other 2 machines.

Each machine has only one login(user) and each has it's own login\\ thanks for helping.
