0xc0000005 error

I get a 0xc0000005 error that crashes my ie web browser what is this error and how do I fix it. I use to use win98se and rearly ever saw this error now that I use win2000 I see the error all the time. Sometime I get this error every couple of web browser clicks and some times I only get thes error 4 times in 3 days. I downloaded the updateds from the mircosoft websites they did not seem to help I want to know if anybody elese has or had this problem and how they fixed it in win2000.

Go to control panel:
Go to add/remove programs
Click Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Click remove and select the repair option.
