Initial Boot failure

i have tried twice to load windows 2000 onto my computer and each time, after install is complete, it freezes during the boot window (where it says windows 2000 with the nice grapgic and whatnot) any help please??? thanks

Could you please give some more info on your system. Is it a new build or an old machine that you want to upgrade the OS on?

I have Dell demension 2100 that origionally came with windows ME

40 GB HArd Drive
383 MB Ram
GeForce 2 64MB with TV out
1.1 gigahertz P4

i have narrowed it down to the video card. whenever i try to boot with it in, the computer freezes. This is perplexing since i havent had a problem with any other OS such as XP, 98, or ME. I have had them all but now that i was 2000 it wont work, thanks

Are you trying to load W2K onto the same hard drive that those other operating systems were installed on at one time?
