Squares & Question Mark In Print Menu

Hey guys -

Hope you can help with this because I am at a loss. Our office is running Windows 2000 Pro with a couple of machines running XP (Pro I think). We did some Windows updates yesterday and a couple, not all, of our machines are having a strange issue. When they go to print and wish to change the page source (ie, tray 1, manual feed, etc.) the drop down menu either has a series of question marks or squares for many of the options. Also, I noticed that on these same machines, if I go into the Advanced Settings for a printer I get alot of squares instead of text.

I did not find anything specific on the Microsoft website - but did find something similar that suggested a corrupted registry entry.

Any help is appreciated,

Trumpy

I would try to change the driver first. You could also try to delete the printer and then reinstall it.

I appreciate the response -

Unfortunately, upon further inspection it appears that all printers are affected so it does not appear to be related to the driver. We have 3 network printers and one of the computers affected has a local printer as well. This affects all of these printers.

Do you think I should go ahead and reinstall all of the drivers?

Thanks,

Trumpy
