NT 4 licences
In the absence of any paperwork, how is the easiest way to find out how many users an NT 4 server is licenced for? I have tried the Licensing applet in Control panel on one of the servers, but when I try to open it, I get the message 'Not available in the MSDN Edition of BackOffice'. The other server allows me to open it, but gives no information.
Thanks |

For the server which the license applet works:
Possibly the case that the licensing mode is set to "Per Seat" ie: The server is assuming that the license is held on the client machine. For the MSDN server: Generally MSDN products don't have a license requirment because they are used for development work. Later on you would replace it with the real product. Unfortuantly there is no upgrade path. Means a reinstall.
