newb vid card question
Im pretty new to this, sorry if this is a stupid question.
Would it be possible to use dual radeon 9700s with a single monitor? As in combine the performance of both kind of like using dual processors. Is there some kind of special hardware that is neccecary or just a special driver? Thanks in advance. |

No this isnt possible - for 1 there is no way to "combine" its power - for 2 you'd need a motherboard with 2 AGP slots (and i am not aware of one).
There is however the option to get a PCI-E motherboard that supports SLI (here is an Example ) - and then buy 2 SLI capable video cards. SLI allows you to use 2 (for example) 6600GT or 6800 series cards simultaneously (with a special bridge between them) and then actually "combine" their performance to boost video game performance. But like i said - this is only possible with PCI Express SLI boards and certain Nvidia cards.
