Tons o' problems. User deleted files.

Win_update does not work.
Control panel is ?, add/remove is removed>!, administrator is not, etc.,....

OS: 98SE, W2k Pro, XP Pro


The good news is it appears this machine is up to date on Windows updates. I compared the W2k patch level and IE level to my main W2k PRO machine and it appears to be the most current.

Not sure how icons got removed or how to get them back. Check to see if they are in the Recycle Bin?

You may want to Install and run Adaware SE and this Registry Tool

for clean up. Not sure it will solve your problem, but it might not hurt to try.
