non-existing password on bootup

Windows 2000pro asking for a bootup password.
Have never used a password. I am the only one using
the computer.

Have never had any problem before not using a
password.

Is there a workaround the nonexistant password short of
reloading windows? Which I really do not want to have done.

Tried using a boot disc -no go.

Thanks for any help

Have you tried just leaving the password blank?
Have you tried logging in with the user named Administrator?

Last resort!!!!

HI
Thanks for the answer.
The password is blank by default.
Administrator and variations produce no change.

Took computer to my tech guy.
Ghost shows bad sectors.
Hard drive less than a year old.
Not sure how that would screw up a
non-existing password. Tech not feeling well
so on hold till Thursday.
