I just installed Win2K and have not been able to find things that I loved in Win 98. When I start to install a new program it always says to close all programs which are running. I always did that thru Control-Alt-Delete and END TASK, everything except Systray and Explorer. However when I try that in Windows 2K under processes it tells me most of the time that I can not shut down a process. How do I shutdown open programs before installing? Thanks, Linda |

You don't need to be quite that paranoid with W2K. I don't close anything that's running as a rule, and I've never had an issue in several years of use of W2K and XP. Just close major applications and any AV you're running before kicking off an install.
