simple task.

the easy way is to insert the os disc and start the computer up. make sure you change the boot settings so that the CDrom is checked before it tries to boot from the HDD. and go thru the os install features. and delete the existing partition this will clear everything... confirm your decision. and select the unformated partition and install from there

It doesn't matter, you should be able to format and clear any previous disk content. This appears to be incompatible hardware, here's a reference to the message in question. MSDN Article STOP: 0x0000006F

OS: Win2000 PRO

! Very Hard Disk !

Gentlemen:

I'm having the small problem described below:

WIN200 PRO

1. My backup hd crashed after a "child's infection".
2. The BIOS recognizes the hd but does not start booting or any other function.
3. FDISK does not recognize it. Says it has no disk installed (Master or Slave).
4. With LINUX installed it recognizes but says has no valid partition on it.
5. With "Norton System Works 2005 Recovery Disk" it says the following:
PARTMGR.SYS ADDRESS FC7464AB BASE AT FC744000
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

Is there any easy procedure to copy the data of this disk to another in order to save aprox. 06 months of work ?

I really appreciate any kind of help.

eduardo
