Tried to change CPU speed, not working

I am trying to change my CPU speed from 400 to 500Mhz, changed the jumpers to the right location nothing is happening. It is a Columbia bx board, with PentiumII.

My System

Overclocking a PII by 25% probably isn't a good idea. I suggest you put it back to stock.

My System

you might get 450 out of it....

i have a 350 p2 that's accomplished 400 no problems.

and i have a 450 that has accomplished 500 no problems.

but, a 400-500 jump is going to make the system fail to boot windows.

an error message like the following should pop up.
"a problem has been detected and windows has halted to prevent damage to your system"
